Thor needs an upgrade. One, because of this:

So, I need to map out my goals and what I want it to do.

====Goals====
~1)Lots more storage space - enough to last me at least another year given that I've grown ~ 400G in the past year
~1)More reliable storage - loosing a TB of stuff would take a long time to sync again
~1)Easier DVD Ripping - simple enough that Tiff can do it
~1)Better managed Music and Video collections - better tagged, better sorted, better understood of what's there
~1)iPod integration - some way to synchronize my iPod without having to use iTunes would be awesome
~1)Try out http://evms.sourceforge.net/ EVMS - a project to present a unified view of all disks in Linux - possibly even doing RAID5 expansion!
~1)Upgrade to FC4/FC5 x86_64 instead of the 32bit version

====Thoughts====
I was originally thinking of moving Thor to my living room and having it be my PVR. Unfortunately, an unspoken goal for a living room PVR is quietness. Even if I got silent fans (highly unlikely), there was no way I would get 6 spinning hard drives quiet.
So, I think we continue w/ my XBMC setup and just work on upgrading the hard drives for now. It's still a lot of money, but I need at least 3x 400G as I have to remove drives from Thor to fit new ones, and removing a 120G and 160G doesn't leave a lot of new space (about 120G). Aaaand if I'm spending $600 on hard drives, why not spend $800, eh?
