The Event
Much gaming and file sharing occured for a little over 12 hours and 50 kwh. Much of the gaming
was centered around UT2004, but there was a
good deal of
Battlefield Vietnam
played as well, and of course,
Worms: World Party.
The tally above is accurate of who all attended, and was a bit small. Still, the bots in UT2k4
were good enough to add a a lot of challange. The new mode 'Onslaught' in Unreal was a real
blast and was a great change for the normal 'Capture the Flag', especially when it was mostly
humans against bots ;). The maps are just awesome to look at, but I suppose it's what's to be expected
for 'the latest and greatest'.
Battlefield Vietnam didn't prove as intersting for us. The game server proved to be a bit of a
challenge to set up, and then the unusual combat scenarios were just a bit too big to really get
into. Add to that an array of controls that needed memorized before you could do anything, and it's
a frustrating battle for anyone only used to a standard fire/alt-fire setup.
